Kevin Jerome has been in the passenger seat of a race car going around Daytona International Speedway at 190 mph.
In his day-to-day life, it seems like Jerome is moving at nearly that speed. He is busy spurring business growth, building connections and helping the people around him achieve their maximum potential.
Early on in his career, Jerome was a sponsorship consultant for a NASCAR race team where he worked to develop marketing programs.
“We worked with them [Haas CNC Racing] through the merger with Tony Stewart, to what is known today as Stewart-Haas Racing,” he said.
Jerome shared his hometown — Golden, Colorado — with Coors Brewery and the Colorado School of Mines. It was in that small town that he first developed a love for sports, a passion that he would carry on throughout the rest of his life. Name the sport and Jerome probably played it; his name could be found on the football, basketball, ice hockey and baseball team rosters.
“I do enjoy sports and have had many opportunities throughout my career and life to interact with many sports figures and participate in some very amazing sporting events,” he shared.
Later on in his career, Jerome acted as the director of marketing and sponsorship sales at Furniture Row Racing.
While there, he increased brand exposure from $16 million to over $28 million in one year.
“Each day is a new beginning with the new potential to make a difference,” Jerome said.
Today, he focuses his efforts on making a difference at PeerSource as a business development manager.
Whether it is a sports-focused venture or an IT recruiting company, Jerome’s mission is the same: he wants to help both businesses and people succeed.
Although Jerome has worked for many notable companies and experienced great professional success, that is not how he measures his life impact.
When asked how he ultimately wants to be remembered, Jerome said: “As someone who was loyal and who enjoyed life and people.”
So, that is what keeps Jerome going — a yearning for a life well lived.
That has taken him on world travels to Italy, on adventures to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and on memorable fly fishing trips.
But, there is still more to do.
What are three things that can be found on his bucket list at this very moment?
At the end of the day, it is 2 Timothy 4:10 that Jerome wants to be able to say: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
