The Inc. 5000 list recognizes the fastest-growing private companies in America. PeerSource made the list this year for the second time.
“No company on the 2018 Inc. 5000 list has grown by less than 50 percent over the past three years,” reported James Ledbetter, Editor in Chief of Inc. Media.
“Of the tens of thousands of companies that have applied to the Inc. 5000 over the years, only a fraction have made the list more than once. A mere one in three have made the list 2 times.”
Trevor Richards — Technology Recruiter and Account Manager at PeerSource — opened up about what it was like to be featured on the prestigious list for the second time.
What does being featured on the Inc. 5000 list mean to you?
Trevor Richards: “We are a relatively small company and to be ranked on a nationally-recognized list like the Inc. 5000 not just once, but twice is incredible. For two straight years, we have continued growing and building something big.”
What sets PeerSource apart from other recruiting companies?
Trevor: “We are completely relationship-driven. We get to know our candidates beyond his or her resume. Our relationship does not end once we make a placement, but continues on through different seasons of life. We want our candidates to find the perfect fit both technically and culturally, and likewise we want our clients to only receive profiles of the best that the candidate pool has to offer.”
What is the greatest lesson that you have learned from your teammates during your time at PeerSource?
Trevor: “Recruiting is a tough business and you go through a lot of highs and lows. Our CEO, John Snellings, always says — ‘Things are never as bad as you think they are and never as good as you think they are.’ That’s helped me to maintain an objective mindset in all I do while still striving to grow our business through the relationships we have.”
How do you envision PeerSource growing in the future?
Trevor: “PeerSource just added two talented new individuals to our team and we continue to keep growing. We are already nationwide and I envision us growing internationally down the line. The growth is exciting and I just hope to continue to be a part of it.”
What was one of your most rewarding moments while working at PeerSource?
Trevor: “We had a contract position that was looking for someone pretty junior. I found a woman who had never worked a contract before, let alone with a staffing agency. Although she was unfamiliar with what recruiting companies have to offer, I was able to walk her through everything involved in being a contractor. We discussed our benefit offerings and how our benefit contribution works, what to expect as a contractor at this particular client, and the hourly rate she wanted. I found out that what she hoped to do with her career was perfect for what our client was looking for. They not only brought her on, but loved her so much so that they converted her to a FTE position within only a few months of starting. I walked her through what salary to negotiate and how to do so. Now she is one of their star employees and I feel like I helped her reach that point, although with small contributions. I am excited to follow her career path in the future.”
What is one of your favorite memories during your time at PeerSource?
Trevor: “I was fortunate enough to go on the 1st annual PeerSource Beach Club Strategic Planning Trip. However, the year we went wasn’t quite a beach — it was Washington, DC. My wife and I love exploring cities we haven’t been to so we had a blast. We were able to get a tour of the White House and visit a number of museums along the National Mall including the Holocaust Museum. That museum was so powerful and will stick in my mind forever. It was great hanging out with our CEO and his family. We can’t wait to go on our next Beach Club.”
